Frequently asked questions
How long are the lessons and how much do they cost? Each term pupils receive 10 weekly lessons, lasting 15 minutes each. To find out more about pricing, please contact the school.
Will my child need an instrument at home? Children who are able to practise on a keyboard or piano at home generally progress much faster than those who don't. Although it is not essential to get one straight away, I would recommend trying to get an instrument by around week 6 to 8 of your child's lessons. Electronic keyboards are small, practical and can often be found at very reasonable prices in music shops, local papers and on the internet. As long as they have standard sized keys, they make excellent tools for beginners and most have a headphone socket for quiet practice.
My child has learning difficulties and/or problems with co-ordination. Is instrumental music tuition a suitable activity? If this is the case, please contact me to discuss your child's individual needs. In many cases the needs of such children can easily be met and music tuition can go on to become very beneficial to them.
